Packaging can reveal a formulation problem that is invisible in an open beaker. A serum containing a gum blend should dispense consistently through its intended pump and remain acceptable after storage, transport simulation and repeated opening.

Evaluation scope
A silicone gum blend should be assessed in the complete hair-care formula and on representative hair substrates. The blend name alone does not establish the carrier composition, gum content or performance at a chosen inclusion level. Use the current JY-F1150 documentation to identify the supplied material before designing the comparison.

Keep these variables in the record
| Item | What to record |
|---|---|
| Hair substrate | Keep treatment history, length and condition comparable. |
| Application | Control the applied amount and distribution method. |
| Formula | Record the carrier oils and any substitutions. |
| Evaluation | Separate immediate feel from effects after repeated use. |
Trial and review plan
- Fill representative packs from a homogeneous pilot batch. Record fill conditions and confirm that package-contact materials are suitable for the complete formula.
- Compare priming, delivered amount, stringing at the nozzle and leakage using the same actuation procedure. Include packs stored in the intended orientations.
- Recheck dispensing after an agreed storage sequence. Compare product taken from the pack with retained bulk samples to distinguish package interaction from bulk-formula instability.
How to use the results
A pump problem is not automatically a raw-material defect. Compare viscosity, formula uniformity, closure integrity and the package specification before choosing a correction. Keep a reference pack so future component substitutions can be evaluated against the approved combination.
Information to include in an RFQ
Provide the hair-product format, target sensory profile, carrier system and the intended evaluation method. Request the current composition disclosure appropriate to the application, technical data and safety data. Ask whether the sample and proposed bulk supply are the same grade and packaging configuration.
Frequently asked questions
Can a passing bulk stability test replace pack testing?
No. The pump, seals, container and headspace form a separate compatibility system. Evaluate the actual marketed package and document any changes made by the packaging supplier.
Are these proposed checks certified results for this grade?
No. This article describes evaluation and procurement questions, not completed customer trials. Request current grade-specific documents and appropriate test evidence. The acceptance criteria must fit the actual formulation, process or assembly being qualified.
