Strings, uneven texture or variable dispensing can appear when a viscous blend is incorporated inconsistently. Before changing the gum-blend grade, check whether the laboratory and production processes provide a uniform mixture throughout the vessel.

Evaluation scope
A silicone gum blend should be assessed in the complete hair-care formula and on representative hair substrates. The blend name alone does not establish the carrier composition, gum content or performance at a chosen inclusion level. Use the current JY-F1150 documentation to identify the supplied material before designing the comparison.

Keep these variables in the record
| Item | What to record |
|---|---|
| Hair substrate | Keep treatment history, length and condition comparable. |
| Application | Control the applied amount and distribution method. |
| Formula | Record the carrier oils and any substitutions. |
| Evaluation | Separate immediate feel from effects after repeated use. |
Trial and review plan
- Review the carrier compatibility information and the supplier's handling guidance. Do not assume the blend is interchangeable with a neat low-viscosity silicone fluid.
- Use a documented addition sequence and observe the mixture during incorporation. Record vessel geometry, mixing conditions and any temperature adjustment used within the approved process.
- Take samples from different vessel locations and compare appearance, viscosity and dispensing behavior after equilibration. Repeat the observations after storage.
How to use the results
A visually uniform surface does not prove complete batch uniformity. Investigate inconsistent samples before increasing mixing intensity or changing ingredient levels. Excessive process changes can introduce other problems and make the cause harder to isolate.
Information to include in an RFQ
Provide the hair-product format, target sensory profile, carrier system and the intended evaluation method. Request the current composition disclosure appropriate to the application, technical data and safety data. Ask whether the sample and proposed bulk supply are the same grade and packaging configuration.
Frequently asked questions
Is pre-dilution always the correct solution?
Not necessarily. It depends on the blend and the proposed diluent. Ask the supplier about suitable handling and confirm that any pre-dilution remains compatible with the final composition and production controls.
Are these proposed checks certified results for this grade?
No. This article describes evaluation and procurement questions, not completed customer trials. Request current grade-specific documents and appropriate test evidence. The acceptance criteria must fit the actual formulation, process or assembly being qualified.
